Helping Oklahoma Foster and Adoptive Families Thrive

Equipping children and caregivers impacted by foster and adoption with practical support, evidence-based caregiver education, and therapy scholarships, so families heal, grow, and build strong relationships.

Even the most loving families need support.

Children who join a family through foster, kinship, or adoption often carry early experiences of loss, instability, or trauma that shape how they respond to the world. Caregivers can face behaviors and emotions that standard parenting strategies do not resolve, because the behavior is rarely the real issue. It usually signals something beneath the surface such as fear, grief, or a need for safety.

The right help is hard to find and often expensive. No family should navigate the challenges of foster, kinship, or adoption care alone. Abide Family Support connects families to the support, tools, and resources they need to heal, strengthen connection, and find hope.

ABOUT ABIDE FAMILY SUPPORT

Mission

To promote healing and hope in children and their families navigating foster care and adoption through physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual support.

Vision

To equip families impacted by foster care and adoption to thrive together through loving and healthy connections.

OUR APPROACH

Abiding
Our foundation is abiding in Christ first, and then from that place we invest in our family.

Whole-Family
When families grow through foster care, kinship, or adoption, everyone is part of the journey. We are here to support the whole family.

Strengthening Connections
Healthy families are built on secure, loving relationships, and we equip caregivers to strengthen those bonds.

Community
Strong support takes a community. Community makes it possible to provide the resources foster and adoptive families need.

OUR STORY

Families find healing and hope through faith, education, therapeutic resources, and community

Sheryl Klenovich knows this journey firsthand. As a mom through both birth and adoption, she has lived the unique joys and challenges that accompany building a family through adoption. Along the way, she watched her own family struggle before finding the resources that helped bring healing and deeper connection.

"We are far from perfect, but now we have the tools to build the connected and loving home we always wanted."

Experiencing that transformation firsthand changed everything. Sheryl felt God calling her to help make those same resources accessible to other families. What began as a personal journey became a mission to help other families experience the healing, hope, and connection her own family had found. Abide Family Support was founded in 2026 in response to that calling, helping families impacted by foster care and adoption access the support and resources they need to build strong, lasting homes.

Abide Healing Scholarships

Therapy scholarships help families access specialized therapeutic services that foster healing, growth, and stronger family relationships. Scholarship funds are paid directly to trusted therapeutic partners, making vital support more accessible. Your generosity helps ensure that healing resources are available when families need them most.

An invitation to Tulsa area churches:

Families impacted by foster care and adoption are already sitting in your congregation. By partnering with AFS, your church can host caregiver classes, sponsor specialized therapy for children, and create opportunities for families to find connection and community. All without adding another program for your staff to manage.

Let’s talk about how your church can get involved.
